During summer break, in the middle of high school, I aimed to take a road trip.  I had learned to spin wrenches on the old Volvo, and just before leaving pulled the engine and transmission to incoorporate the next generation of overdrive gearing. Custom installed myself in the driveway! To test it, the morning after finishing, I took off and drove it on a cross country road trip meandering through the rocky mountains, pulling the expedition trailer, also freshly restored, and full of cool gear.  over 3,000 miles...

Also made several other trips west during school; whenever i could make it happen.

over 4,000 miles...

Hauled a volvo B20 (8bolt) engine long distance in the expedition trailer.
