TR3 Labrador Traverse, and tour of the Maritimes
Having been craft built for long distance endurance touring, this TR3 has made several epic runs.
Last year my Dad and I drove it from the Mid West of the U.S., through the hinterlands of the North West
and up to the Arctic of Alaska; and back!
10,000 miles in 28 days. (See Farther Below)
This year our sights were on traversing the other side of the North American Frontier; the far North East!!!
Many amazing and wonderful people along the way! And such beautiful territory.
The Labrador Highway is one of the longest most remote gravel roads in the world.
Our friends at AWD in Happy Valley, Labrador even set us up with a safety flag;
There and back safely! 8,000 miles in 23 days!
TR3 to the Arctic
From the rolling plains of the mid-west to the remote Arctic tundra of Northern Alaska; and then back!
With hundreds of miles of remote gravel roads, it is a feat for any vehicle.
Mid-way back we were rammed by a dumptruck, even with wiring in 7 extra lights.
He was being tailgated and went to watching just his mirrors,
he failed to pay attention to where he was going.
He rammed us forward, blowing out the top of the engine.
Fortunately we were ok, and carrying a few tools were able to re-build the top end of the engine,
in a parking lot, in a day.
From there we cruised the remaining 2500 miles, no problem.
It was an incredible long-term dream and journey.
Soon it was de-scrunched and my Dad and I started thinking on the far North East
